Harport Consulting is an independent consultancy specialising in mind mapping software. I have 15 years of experience in applying mind mapping software to business, through the design of processes and materials and the development of special functions, with dozens of completed products and custom projects. I was the technical editor for Wiley's "MindManager for Dummies", published when MindManager X5 launched. Many people will know me through connections with Mindjet and MindManager, as the cofounder of MindManuals.com (the first third party developer for MindManager) and later Gyronix, and for the GyroQ, ResultsManager and Power Markers products amongst others. In its day, GyroQ was voted best MindManager extension, and Power Markers is now part of the Mindjet product line.

Despite the bias towards technology, my real interest is in the more formal business uses of mind mapping software as a knowledge management and information management tool. Much is made of how mind mapping software can help with "information overload". One way to become better consumers of information is to work at being better producers. Harport Consulting offers software-independent training on the real-world use of mind mapping software as an business tool, rather than as a mind mapping tool.
